Argentina are a top football nation – the country is known always to produce youngsters year in and year out. The South American country is one of the biggest exporters of football talents.

From Diego Maradona, to Sergio Aguero and Lionel Messi, the list is endless, and in 2024, the trend continues. Recently, Manchester City signed 18-year-old Claudio Echeverri from River Plate. Echeverri is the latest exciting talent from the country that needs to be watched in 2024 but he’s not the only one.

Here are top 5 Argentina youngsters to watch in 2024.

Alejandro Garnacho

Forward
Manchester United
19-years-old

Garnacho maybe in his third season at Manchester United and he may already be looking like a regular but at just 19 years old, a lot of United fans and even Argentina are hoping that Garnacho will have his best season yet. At age  19, the youngster has shown flashes of brilliance which needs to be consistent. If that happens this year, then he might be a Stafford for Manchester United for years to come

Claudio Echeverri

Forward
Manchester City
18-years-old

At the FIFA U17 World Cup last year in Indonesia, Claudio Echeverri shone for Argentina. On 24 November 2023, in the quarter-finals of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, he scored a hat-trick in a 3–0 victory over rivals Brazil.

This performance brought a lot of suitors including the fact that he’s featured for River Plate’s senior team. However, it was Manchester City who on 25 January 2024, signed Echeverri on a four-and-a-half year contract, while the player will remain on loan at River Plate until January 2025.

Luka Romero

Midfield
AC Milan
19 years old

Luka Romero is a midfield gem, the AC Milan midfielder is so strong on the ball, can handle pressure and steer off opposition. All these coupled with an impressive passing range and ability to strike from distance.

Romero is already in Europe unlike the others and he’s already played five games in all competitions for the Italian side this season but many who saw him play at the U20 World Cup will be hoping to see more of him.

Agustin Roberto

Striker
River Plate
18 Years old

The player from the River Plate II club ended up as the top scorer at the 2023 U-17 World Cup thanks to 8 goals from all the matches Argentina played as they finished fourth.

None of Argentina’s U-17 matches passed without a goal donation from Roberto. The younger is also called The Giant for his body size and stature and he sure knows how to use it to his advantage.

He may not be in Europe already but with teams like Arsenal stated to be interested in signing him, it’s just a matter of time before we see him cross the border.

Nico Paz

Midfield
Real Madrid
19-years-old

Nico Paz has already made four appearances for Real Madrid’s main team from last year but he’s considered a big talent that could still offer a lot, even amongst the mammoth of youngsters the Los Blancos have in their team at the moment.

He hasn’t featured for the Argentina national team but he played a member of games for the under-20 team last year and is well on course to become a big talent for Argentina.
